Murder accused denies involvement

Stephen Lekoro, the man accused of masterminding the murder of the Human couple from Great Brak River in June 2016, appeared in the Circuit High Court in Mossel Bay on 5 August 2016, where he pleaded not guilty to all four charges against him.

Shortly after the murder of Tewie (72) and Eurika (62) Human in June 2016, Lekoro fled to Lesotho. Leroko was employed by the Human couple at the time of the murder.

In November 2018, Lekoro returned to South Africa, an d was arrested in Bloemfontein. He is facing two charges of murder and two charges of aggravated robbery.

Lekoro explained to Judge Mark Sher that he was at the Human household on the day of the murder. He then told the court that on the day of the murder, he was involved in an argument with Tewie Human who assaulted him using his fist. According to Lekoro, he then stabbed Human using a knife and fled from the scene.

Lekoro said that he had no knowledge of the double murder, putting all the blame on his friend, 27 year old Thamsanqa Sishuba, who is serving a life sentence for his involvement in the double murder.
