Lion in police holding cell

After almost a month, and covering approximately 200km, the lion who escaped from the Karoo National Park on 15 February 2019 was finally darted and captured.

Oliver, as some people call him, escaped from The Karoo National Park on 15 February , after heavy rains damaged the fence.

While roaming free the lion feasted on an Elend, several sheep, and a goat.

According to Fayroush Ludick, spokesperson for SANParks, the lion is currently in a police holding cell in Sutherland awaiting a crate to transport him back to the Park.
