Suspects wanted for rape of minor

George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) seeks assistance from the public to trace two suspects, a man and a woman who had been implicated in a recent rape case that occurred in Pacaltsdorp on Thursday, 03 May 2018 at about 07h00am.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim, an 11 year old girl, stopped at a tuck shop on her way to school at about 07h00am on Thursday 3 May 2018.

She was approached by the two suspects who attempted to lure her into their vehicle. She refused to get into the vehicle and continued walking. The suspects followed the victim and a female got out the vehicle and grabbed the girl by the hand and foot and forced her into the back of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle driven by a man. The suspects tied up the victim and covered her mouth.

They then drove towards the Pacaltsdorp Industrial area where the man allegedly raped her two times while the female accomplice looked on and enticed the male suspect.

After the rape, the girl was thrown out of the vehicle and the suspects drove away. The girl then walked back to her residence in Pacaltsdorp. Initially she did not report her ordeal to her mother.

She only reported her ordeal to her mother a week later when the case was then reported to the Pacaltsdorp Police and handed over for investigation to the George FCS. The only description that the victim could give at the time was that the suspects drove a blue coloured car, suspected to be an older model Opel Cadet or similar shaped car.

The child received medical attention and forensic social workers attached to the FCS unit assisted the investigating officer with the general preliminary investigation into the matter.

An appeal is made to anyone with information regarding the incident or whereabouts of the suspects, to please contact Sgt Yolande Carolus of the George FCS at 044 8034621, 083 302 7510 or Crime stop at 08600 10111.
